China-Arab States Expo SecretariatFrom March 24th to 25th, a delegation composed of relevant departments and offices led by Dai Peiji, Party Secretary and Director of the Department of Commerce of Ningxia, conducted an inspection tour in Chengdu to study and research the operational practices of the 112th China Food & Drink Fair (CFDF) and the Western China International Fair, as well as Sichuan's experience of leveraging the platform of national-level expos to advance the development of export-oriented economy, aiming to strengthen efforts in participant outreach and promotional campaigns for the 7th China-Arab States Expo ("the Expo"). The delegation sequentially held meetings with Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Economic Cooperation, Sichuan International Expo Group, COFCO Group, etc., while conducting in-depth exchanges with enterprises participating in the 112th CFDF.
The research group, grounded in the practical context of Ningxia's Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry development, conducted specialized consultations with relevant entities across several strategic dimensions for optimizing the 7th Expo such as the venue construction planning and layout, MICE industry policy, intergovernmental coordination mechanisms, exhibition economy development, smart exhibition ecosystem construction, etc., focusing on guest invitation, publicity and promotion, the market-oriented event planning framework, etc., and reached a consensus on exchanges and cooperation, joint exhibitions, institutionalized interaction mechanisms and other aspects.
The delegation conducted on-site investigations at the Western China International Expo City in Chengdu, analyzing exhibition hall layouts, live booth construction, and supporting infrastructure including transportation networks and hotel clusters, and carried out in-depth exchanges with COFCO Group on the market-oriented exhibition planning framework.
This working group also concluded that, in recent years, under the high-level guidance of the Expo, the MICE industry of Ningxia has made phased progress, yet still lags behind advanced regional benchmarks. It is imperative to make full reference of Sichuan's proven practices in developing the MICE industry, strengthen institutional coordination between the two provinces' government industry authorities, establish deeper interaction mechanisms for exhibition industries and exhibition economic collaboration, and deepen institutional collaboration and alignment, so as to further push forward the sustainable and healthy growth of the MICE industry in Ningxia and consolidate the foundation of the platform for the high-quality development driven by high-standard opening up in Ningxia.
