On April 18th, a delegation led by Dai Peiji, Director of the Department of Commerce of Ningxia, visited the Embassy of Algeria in China and held working talks with Ambassador KAID SLIMANE Lahcene to coordinate jointly preparations for the Algeria-themed "Guest Country of Honor" activities, which serve as an institutional mechanism that embodies the principle of "co-organization by China and Arab states" of China-Arab States Expo (the Expo), and deepen practical economic and trade cooperation between Ningxia and Algeria. The delegation included representatives from the Ningxia Foreign Affairs Office, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Ningxia Committee and other departments.

The working group briefed the overall preparations for the 7th Expo to the Algerian side, and both sides exchanged in-depth views on key tasks such as inviting important guests from Algeria to participate in the Expo; designing and arranging a series of activities; conducting buyer-exhibitor acquisition for national pavilions; establishing a joint working group; coordinating the preparatory work for Guest Country event, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU); and deepening the practical cooperation in the field of trade and economy between Ningxia and Algeria. Dai Peiji, on behalf of the Department of Commerce of Ningxia, expressed gratitude to the Algerian Embassy in China for its longstanding attention and support to the Expo, especially for its active efforts in facilitating Algeria's role as the " Guest Country of Honor" for the 7th Expo. He proposed leveraging the expo as a new starting point to strengthen the regular contact and communication, and promote cross-sectoral exchanges and cooperation between Ningxia and Algeria so as to deliver concrete cooperative outcomes.

The ambassador emphasized that China-Algeria relations are deeply rooted in history with enduring friendship standing the test of time, and that Algeria attaches great importance to economic and trade cooperation with China, especially through the opportunity of organizing delegations to participate in the Expo and other important exhibitions of China, to further amplify two-way economic and trade flows between the two sides. The Guest Country initiative has provided significant opportunities for Algeria to advance international cooperation. The Embassy will proactively coordinate with relevant Algerian stakeholders to ensure meticulous preparation, thereby solidifying bilateral economic and trade synergies.

As the next step, the Department of Commerce of Ningxia will, in accordance with the consensus reached by the two sides, systematically coordinate resources across key domains including event planning formulation, guest invitations, exhibition design and presentation, and outcome architecture development, enhance project alignment mechanisms, and execute full-spectrum preparations for the Guest Country activities, laying an operational bedrock for successfully orchestrating the 7th Expo.
